Super Affiliate Success Story

We all love to hear about people being successful, and I want you to take the time to read this story because you can learn a lot from it.

Internet marketing expert Liz Tomey  has a real commitment to people, and when she found one of her close friends in need, she came to the rescue, and turned a total newbie into an “insane affiliate marketing machine”.

I am picking up a new hobby – write articles with quality content to Ezine Articles.

I can’t believe I am actually doing this. When I was in school, I hated writing. I only knew how to copy other people’s work.  My head was usually empty with no thoughts, no creativity, no sparks ….. and so I thought.  That’s how I grew up. Life is ironic. The very thing you try to avoid most would end up the thing you end up enjoy doing most.  Fast forward to 30 years. I now actually see value in writing. I don’t need to lean over my head to copy my friend’s work. I actually can write on my own. I do have something worthwhile to say. And I enjoy writing! Can you believe this? This is now my new hobby to help me to be a better teacher.

Writing articles help me to focus on the important issues.  This is good training for a teacher because often times when we teach students, we need to be on target so that students can learn easily.  Often times, the students want to learn, but the teacher lacks the teaching skill to help students to focus.  So here I am in Writing 101 with Ezine Articles.

The following is the first article I submitted to Ezine Articles.

When I wrote this first article, I didn’t do any drafts but wrote what was flowing through my head. Sometimes this can be quite dangerous, but this is what makes writing fun. It’s no fun when you have to brew over everything you write. It’s just like piano playing. It’s not fun to play exactly what is on the sheet music. Who cares about grammar and the sentences structure. What is more important is to learn to write in the flow. It’s the creativity in improvising that makes writing and playing piano fun and enjoyable.

Ezine Article # 1:  Are you a struggling pianist?

Are you a pianist who finds yourself struggling every time you are playing the piano? When you practice, your mind wanders and you wonder why you are practicing all these scales and boring exercises. When you get a chance to perform, you are a nervous wreck and you struggle behind the piano hoping that you can quickly get to the end of the piece.

Struggling to play well and enjoying one’s playing is a problem to many pianists. I’ve struggled for many years wondering if there’s ever hope for me to play piano well. I’ve often wondered whether the time I spend playing at the piano is really worthwhile. Maybe I am wasting my time. Maybe I don’t have talent. Maybe I should just quit.

I write this article because I see this great struggling phenomenon in many piano players.

Is there a solution to all this?

I didn’t find the solution until I started teaching piano. Odd isn’t it? I never really tried to solve this matter on my own because as the years went on, I was not struggling anymore as I advanced. The problem seemed to have solved itself without myself being aware of it. It came to a point that others were enjoying my piano playing so much that they wanted me to teach them piano.

I never thought of teaching piano. I just play piano. That’s what I’ve been doing for 26 years. I have a lot of neat experiences on the piano bench that I never thought of sharing with people until I started writing my Instructional Piano Manuals for piano players. Isn’t this odd? So as people requested to me to help them play piano, everything just came together so naturally for me that even teaching piano was no struggle, let alone playing piano for myself, for others, and in front of an audience.

What is the secret?

Perhaps we can turn the question around and ask: How to play piano in the flow. When you play with ease and in the flow — there is no more struggle!

For this session, I want to narrow down to 3 often FAQ to playing piano with ease and in the flow. No more struggle!

F – Focus.
A — Acquire simplicity.
Q — Quiet mind.

F stands for Focus. You need to focus your whole being in front of the piano. Don’t think about what you are going to cook for dinner tonight. Don’t wander in your mind getting upset with your angry boss. Don’t bother listening to the phone that keeps ringing. Just focus. It is better that you focus to play for 3 minutes than to sit in front of the piano to practice for 1 hour.

A stands for Acquiring simplicity. Too many books and piano instructions tell us to do all these difficult techniques. The elegant style of playing does not come in how complex your technique is. Techniques that sound complex can actually be very simple.

Q stands for Quiet mind. Most people are not aware of this. In fact, this does not just apply to piano playing but to all aspects of life. When your mind is quiet, you are at peace. When you are at peace, you don’t struggle. Quiet water runs deep. This is so true. When the water runs deep, your reservoir of creativity bubbles out from within. You cannot help but enjoy your piano playing to no end. Time flies and you wonder where they have gone. Suddenly, you are caught in a bliss. You hear yourself playing, really playing piano. You are no longer doing boring scales nor struggling to memorize. You hear angels singing with you.

I hope these 3 TIPS can help all pianists from struggling.
It’s all in your control!
It’s not in the external of what you see.
It’s all within you that you need to discipline.

Next time, when you are at the piano, remember:

Focus
Acquire Simplicity
Quiet Mind.

I am starting a thread about her books because I know that others have purchased them and that Rosa will give help to anyone that asks for help in the thread.

Here are a few things that may interest some of you about the work that Rosa has done.

There are things in her method for everyone, lots of different rhythm patterns, fills, and just everything that anyone, beginner or intermediate, can use. Theory is also explained so you don’t miss out on any of it. These are demonstrated on hymns, but Rosa also has a video that shows how they apply to all types of music.

She has a book for playing by ear that will go nicely with her Color Chord Improvisation Books!

She stays on a rhythm or pattern long enough that there is no doubt left in your mind as to how to do the things she is teaching….and all her videos in the book are like this. Just a great learning tool!

She also has a Virtual Piano Score on the DVD that makes it easier to read melody notes and play on the keyboard.

One of the many things in Rosa’s methods is the Asian Notation method that she uses in her Play By Ear book. It makes music so simple and easy to play in any key you want. It’s such a simple way to write out the melody line, using the scale degrees and a simple method of notating the note value, with the chords written above in our own Roman Numerals that we are used to. You can use this Asian system to write out a lead line and then it’s so easy to play in any key you want to.
